Pensez- The Case Study Competition

Pensez is the annual Case Study Competition organised by the Entrepreneurship Cell, IIT Kharagpur. The problem statements are designed to inculcate an innovative strategy of analysing phenomena relating to entrepreneurship in general. It includes Sociological, Industrial and Technological aspects designed to focus on certain trends and issues in entrepreneurial spheres. Pensez 2009 is targeting on the how web-based technologies and marketing strategies are generating revenue for Tech Startups.Pensez '09

PROBLEM STATEMENT:-Analysing the impact of web-based technologies on technology start-ups. The internet is still evolving and is now one of the best ways to give your business a shot in the arm if you utilize a good strategy. Both service and tech based start-ups have been doing better if they utilise the power provided by the web for marketing and reaching out to customers. The web also provides a rich arsenal of tools to be used like visitor tracking scripts which automatically provide a kind of feedback to the owner about the customer's preferences and location so that he may take the necessary action accordingly. This year's Pensez problem statement is to do a conclusive and analytical study on the use of web based technologies and marketing strategies and their impact on tech based businesses. Participants will also have to track the progress of any 2 fresh tech-based ventures arising as a result of their utilisation of the internet in marketing strategically.
